Dr. Nicole Bunnell spent most of her time growing up in Norco, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. 

She attended Chaffey Community College and competed on the swim and water polo teams there. Dr. Bunnell then achieved her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in chemistry at California Polytechnic University Pomona while taking care of her new born daughter. She attended veterinary school at Midwestern University where she has received awards for clinical excellence. Dr. Bunnell completed her small animal rotating internship at Advanced Veterinary Specialists, where she fell in love with the hospital and the culture of Santa Barbara, and knew she would return one day. She then went on to complete her residency in Emergency in Critical Care at Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in Las Vegas. 

Dr. Bunnell is now happily back at Advanced Veterinary Specialists! Her professional interests include transfusion medicine, sepsis and mechanical ventilation. Outside of work, Dr. Bunnell loves to swim and spend time with her daughter.
