COVID-19

COVID-19 Information

Our primary concern is always the health and well-being of our patients, clients and staff

We are closely following the latest guidelines from the CDC, local governments, and public health agencies.

To our valued client,

Advanced Veterinary Specialists is making every attempt to mitigate the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

While our team members have already been trained to uphold and practice high-quality infection control, we have intensified cleaning and sanitizing practices and have asked any team members who have symptoms concerning for coronavirus to stay home. While this will help to mitigate the spread of the virus, please understand that we may be working with a smaller staff and that elective or non-urgent procedures may be delayed. In an effort to support the recommendations from the human health care experts, we are also trying to implement social distancing as much as we can. Statistics have shown that social distancing is the most important thing we can do for our community. In light of this, we are temporarily changing our check-in and examination protocol. Until further notice, all examinations will be performed by the doctor and the nurses in the treatment area. Our current exam rooms do not allow for the proper amount of space for social distancing. Therefore, one of our trained technicians will collect a history from you either while you are in your car or outside and then bring your pet to the treatment area for physical examination. After the doctor has examined your pet, he/she will either call you with the consultation (you can still be at AVS in your car) or meet with you outside (weather permitting). The whole visit for your pet will be completed without you having to enter the facility. The same exceptional care will be provided to your furry loved one.

All paperwork can be completed remotely. Check-in paperwork can be completed online prior to your appointment, treatment plans and cost estimations can be emailed directly to you at the time of the consult and deposits can be collected via telephone. When it comes to hospitalized pets please understand that we may need to limit access to in-hospital visitations. We understand that it can be stressful when your beloved pet is sick and you want to be with them. We want to be able to accommodate you in a manner that is safe to you and still follows the recommendations from the CDC. This may mean no visits or limited visits per veterinarian discretion.Again, our goal is to continue offering you high-quality health care for your pet(s) as we have been for the last 7 and a half years. We are committed to keeping you and our staff members safe. For the sake of everyone, we kindly ask that if you are feeling sick, please contact us to make alternative plans or reschedule your appointment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Thank you for entrusting AVS with the care of your beloved pet,

Dr. Wells and the entire AVS Team
