State of the art facility

Diagnostic and therapeutic using the latest technologies

The Advanced Veterinary Specialists facility was designed by veterinarians and veterinary architects with you and your pet’s comfort in mind. All of our equipment has the most current technology possible to provide the most accurate diagnosis and best available therapy for your pet. Our doctors make it their mission to care for your pet in the most up-to-date environment and in the most compassionate way. A quiet area for critical patients is situated right in front of our nurses’ station. Our dog runs are extra large, and we can hospitalize our feline patients away from our canine patients. We have a large parking lot as well as curb-side parking available at the emergency entrance for your convenience. We have a welcoming reception area, a lobby with comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and a hospitality center. We also encourage visitation for hospitalized pets.

We provide a variety of specialized procedures including advanced surgical procedures, cancer therapy, ultrasounds, color flow Doppler echocardiograms (heart ultrasound), endoscopy, chemotherapy, biopsies, bone marrow sampling, tracheal stent placement, and much more.

Level II Emergency and Critical Care Facility

In January 2015, Advanced Veterinary Specialists became certified as a Level II Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Facility by the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. AVS is 1 of only 2 veterinary hospitals in the state of California to achieve Level II designation!

The purpose of this certification is to recognize those hospitals that meet and exceed the minimum standards and guidelines published by VECCS. VECCS does this in the hopes of raising the standard of care while also increasing public and professional awareness in the area of veterinary emergency and critical patient care.

This certification program identifies three levels (I through III) based on facility operating hours, equipment and personnel. The VECCS has identified a Level II facility as such: “The Level II emergency and critical care facility is a 24 hour acute care facility with the medical staff, personnel and training necessary to provide emergent and critical patient care. This facility is open to receive small animal emergency patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.”
